  I pulled my [h/c] hair out of my face as much as I could. I squared my shoulders back and walked past Kakashi into the mission room without a glance. It's been weeks since we've spoken about this besides missions.

  "Kakashi, you and [Name] will be part of the recovery team. You will leave in two days and it will take three days to cover the entire area. This one is easy due to the harder missions both of you have been taking recently," Lady Tsunade instructed us.

  I saw Kakashi glance at me in my peripheral. He had no clue I was taking the S- ranked missions and successfully completing them. When the meeting was over, he walked beside me and started a bit of small talk which amused me. I decided not to be cruel, but indifferent. I have showed him that I am not a child and that I do not require his time or attention- no matter how much I would like it at times.
 
  "I wasn't aware that you've been allowed to go on S-ranked missions," he said plainly as he looked ahead and walked with his hands in his pockets.

  I nodded once and continued to walk on in silence. After a few more minutes we arrived at a small food vendor. I asked for a small cup of green tea and when I reached for my money to pay for it Kakashi had already gotten his out.

  "I think I'll have a cup as well," He handed the money over and when he saw my confused and slightly irritated face he put a hand on my lower back and began leading me to a table. "I want to apologize. Can we please talk about what happened?" His voice remained calm as he asked me.

  "Fine."

  "I'm sorry. It was only a mistake because that was not the way I wanted to let you know that I felt the same way. Can I try again?" He placed one of his hands on the table and left it open.

  Hesitation caused me to stare at his hand before finally resting my own in his open palm. Kakashi's eye slightly squinted with what I assumed was a smile under his mask.

  "Thank you, [Name]. We've been on the same team for a long time now. I was confused and almost afraid. I didn't handle the situation well when I kissed you like that and then called it a mistake. It wasn't. I wanted to do that and it felt like the right thing to do. It was a mistake to call that kiss a mistake. We are both consenting adults, you know what you want and I know what I want. Forgive me?" He waited as I took in his words and finished my tea with my free hand. I nodded and smiled kindly at him. He stood up and held my hand the entire way to his home. There, he made a wonderful dinner for me and practically treated me like a queen. It was then that I decided I wanted to give him all of me, hoping he would accept me.
